Getting started

How do I install Receipts?
Receipts is launching soon on iOS and Android. Join the waitlist on the Get the App page and we'll send you the link to download the moment it's ready.
How do I import my first conversation?
In the app, go to Imports, pick the platform (WhatsApp, iMessage, SMS, Instagram, Messenger, email, screenshots), and follow the on-screen steps. The first import is the slowest. After that they're quick.
What gets analysed?
Only the conversation you import, and only what's in it. Receipts does not read other apps, scan your phone, or touch anything you didn't hand to it.
Who can see my analyses?
Only you, unless you explicitly share a report. No one else inside Receipts reads your conversations. See the Privacy Policy for how this is enforced technically.

Account & security

How do I change my email or password?
Settings → Account. You can change your email without re-verification from us. Password changes are handled in the same screen.
How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
Settings → Security → Two-factor authentication. We recommend an authenticator app over SMS.
I've lost access to my phone and my recovery key.
If you still have the email on your account, email contact@receipts.love and we can help you regain access to the account shell. Encrypted data tied to a lost recovery key is, by design, unrecoverable.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate. Account info is retained for 30 days in case you change your mind, after which it's permanently erased.

Billing & plans

What do the plans include?
Free gives you core analysis and unlimited reading. Personal ($19/mo) adds history, unlimited imports, and full reports. Personal+ ($39/mo) adds legal-grade documentation features. Pro ($149/seat/mo) is for professionals. See the Pricing page for the full matrix.
I can't afford the paid plan right now.
Write to contact@receipts.love. If $19 isn't the right number for you right now, say so and we'll make it work. No questionnaires, no paperwork, no proof required.
How do refunds work?
Within 30 days of paying, email contact@receipts.love and we'll refund in full, no questions asked. This is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law, which we don't exclude or limit.
Can I change plans anytime?
Yes. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from Settings → Billing. Changes take effect at the next billing cycle. If we change prices, existing subscribers stay on their current price for at least 12 months.
Can I get a receipt or tax invoice?
Stripe emails one automatically after every payment. You can also download them anytime from Settings → Billing → Invoices.

Reports & exports

How do I generate a report?
Open any analysis, tap Generate report, and choose the format: plain summary, timeline, or legal documentation (Personal+ and Pro). Reports are saved to your account and can be downloaded any time within 90 days.
What formats can I export?
JSON (structured), PDF (for sharing and court filings), and the original message format (for reimport elsewhere).
Can a court use a Receipts report?
Legal documentation reports are formatted with jurisdiction-specific terminology and evidence organisation. Admissibility depends on your jurisdiction and the circumstances of the case. Always confirm with your lawyer.
How long are reports kept?
Generated reports stay in our system for 90 days. Download the PDF or JSON if you need them longer. Once downloaded they remain yours.

Privacy & data

Who can read my messages?
The AI (Anthropic's Claude) analyses anonymised chunks to generate patterns. No person at Receipts reads your conversations. See the Privacy Policy for the full technical detail.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes. All conversation data is encrypted at rest in our database, and TLS protects everything in transit. Backups are encrypted and stored separately.
How do I export everything I have?
Settings → Privacy → Export my data. You will get a downloadable archive, usually within a few minutes.
How do I delete a specific conversation?
Open the conversation, tap the three-dot menu, Delete. This also clears analyses derived from it. There is no undo.
GDPR / CCPA requests
Email contact@receipts.love with the subject "GDPR request" or "CCPA request". We respond within 30 days.

Safety & Quick Exit

What does Quick Exit do?
Press Shift + Esc (or tap the Quick Exit button in the top right of any page) to leave immediately. You will land on the Bureau of Meteorology site, and your browser history for this tab is replaced.

Can someone else see that I use Receipts?
Receipts does not send push notifications with content. The app appears as "Receipts" on your home screen. If you need more discretion, put the app in a folder or use a pass-code lock: Settings → Security → App lock.

For professionals

How do I get team access?
Pro seats are managed by an admin on your Pro workspace. The admin invites users via Settings → Team. See the For Professionals page for the full capability matrix.
We're a legal aid or community service. Is there a discount?
Yes, we offer volume pricing for legal aid organisations and community services. Write to contact@receipts.love and tell us a little about your team size and the work you do.
Does Receipts sign data processing agreements?
Yes. Email contact@receipts.love with your organisation details and we will send over our standard DPA, or review yours.

Troubleshooting

An import didn't work.
First, re-export the source file and try again. Exports can time out for very long histories. If it still fails, attach the import file to a note to contact@receipts.love and we will look at it.
Analysis is taking a long time.
Most conversations analyse in under a minute. For very long histories (10,000+ messages), it can take several minutes. If nothing has happened after 10 minutes, pull to refresh, or restart the app.
I think the AI got something wrong.
Use the "Flag this finding" link inside any analysis, or email contact@receipts.love. Every report is read by a human within two business days and logged against the model version that produced it.
I'm on an older iPhone or Android. Will Receipts work?
iOS 16+ and Android 11+ are supported. Older OS versions may work but we do not test against them.
