If someone uploaded your words, here's how to ask for them back.
We can't always tell when uploaded material involves a third party's copyright, confidential information, or content shared without permission. When you tell us, we act.

The plain version.
If you're the author of a message that's been uploaded to Receipts, or the rights holder of any other content on the platform, write to us and we'll investigate. If your claim is valid, we'll remove or restrict the material. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.
This page covers copyright claims. If you believe content was uploaded in breach of a court order, suppression order, confidentiality agreement, or your privacy rights, the same address gets the same human attention — write to us and tell us what's happened.
What we'll need from you.
To act on a takedown request, we need enough detail to identify the material and verify the claim. In writing, please include:
- Who you are and how to contact you (name, email, and a postal address if you have one).
- What the material is — a description specific enough that we can find it. If you have an account on Receipts, the report or conversation reference. If you don't, the best description you can give.
- What rights you hold in that material and on what basis (you wrote it, you own the copyright, you're an authorised representative of the rights holder).
- A statement, signed by you, that the information in the notice is accurate, and that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorised by you, your agent, or the law.
- Any supporting evidence that helps us verify the claim — we may ask for more.
If you're acting under the DMCA (US copyright law), include the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). If you're in another jurisdiction, give us what your local law asks for and we'll work with it.
Send the notice to contact@receipts.love, subject line "Takedown request".
What we'll do.
When a notice comes in:
- A human on our team reads it within two business days.
- If the notice is valid on its face, we'll restrict access to the material while we investigate. The user who uploaded it is notified, unless there's a safety reason not to.
- We may ask either party for more information.
- If the claim holds, the material stays removed.
- If it doesn't, the material is restored, and we tell both sides why.
We don't decide questions of law. We make the best call we can with the information in front of us, and we err on the side of removing material when there's reasonable doubt.
If you think we got it wrong.
If your material was removed and you believe the takedown was a mistake or misidentification, write to the same address with a counter-notice. Include:
- Your contact details.
- A description of the material and where it was.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia (or, if outside Australia, the applicable jurisdiction in your country), and accept service of process from the original complainant.
We'll review and respond.
Repeat infringers.
Accounts that receive multiple valid takedown notices may be suspended or terminated. We log every notice against the account that uploaded the material.
A note on content that isn't strictly copyright.
A lot of what gets uploaded to Receipts is a conversation between two people. The other person may not own the copyright in your words, but they may have other rights — confidentiality, privacy, a court order, a non-disclosure agreement. If you believe content was uploaded in breach of any of those, this is the right address. We'd rather handle it as a single, integrated process than ask you to navigate three different forms.
